Steven Swann is a native Floridian, born in Tampa and reared in Japan.His training in business, mathematics and psychology began in 1962, when he and his grandfather started selling boiled peanuts on the side of the highway in Jacksonville, Florida. Steven’s first ​venture into charitable fundraising began in 1963, when his Australian grandmother educated him in the work of the Salvation Army.His first major commitment to local charities began in 1979, and he has focused on those charities which help the poor, the hungry and children whose needs are unmet.He is married to Daryl Swann, who has been the reason that he is able to do anything that has value.
